Eat This Not That To Combat Cholesterol

Cholesterol Fighting Foods:



Soy ---- soymilk (low fat vanilla varieties are yummy), soybeans (Edamame),tofu, soyjoy bars

beans and lentils



Salmon






almonds and other nuts
garlic



margarines (fat free or low fat varities)



alvacado (guacamole is made with alvacados)



tea



dark (bittersweet) chocolate ----yes I said chocolate but not milk chocolate and only in moderation



oats (oatmeal, cheerios, etc)



blueberries




pomegrante juice



barley







Cholesterol Helping Foods (bad bad for you):

Whole milk (drink only fat free or skim varities or opt for fat free soy milk instead)

Whole milk dairy products like ice cream, cheese, yogurt etc (opt for low fat or non fat options)

Processed meats (like bacon, sausage, liverwurst, hotdogs etc)
Fast food fries
Tropical oils (used in manufactured foods ---- these are coconut oil and palm kernel oil --- read your labels)
Baked goods ---- (particularly manufactured baked goods)
